News Over the past three years I have been involved in some wonderful projects. I have been fortunate to work with individuals with uncompromising standards. It is always such a pleasure to work with innovators who strive to produce quality product. Here are a few highlights. 2009 I am happy to report that a project I worked on last year, The City of Shawnee, KS Justice Center has been presented the 2008 Real Estate & Construction Review's Green Building of America Award. The article comes out in July. My thanks to the folks at McCown Gordon Construction for including me on this project. 2008 I have been working on the etched and carved glass for a privately owned English style tavern. The quality of work by Gene Fritzel Construction is unsurpassed. I could go on forever about the carved wood details, reclaimed lumber paneling, and handmade tiles. I had the pleasure of creating the bench surround panels, as well as the cabinet, bathroom and wine cellar doors. The ceiling dome I created over the bar is featured in my art and signage section. It was my great honor to restore and create protective coverings for the leaded glass windows at the William Rockhill Nelson Mausoleum. I am very pleased to say that I have created three new sanctuary windows for the Greater Jerusalem Baptist Church. This is my first liturgical project since starting my own business. My thanks to Lillian Buchanan and Pastor Foster for their faith in me. 2007 The Home Builders Association has bestowed the American Dream Award on the Wornall Park Condominiums project. Victoria Sexton's vision for this project was uncompromising. I enjoyed the opportunity to contribute the beveled and etched transom windows above the individual units. This year I also worked with the folks at Gene Fritzel Construction on the restoration and expansion of Danforth Chapel at KU campus in Lawrence. I restored the existing stained glass windows as well as furnished the leaded glass panels in the new bridal dressing room. 2006 It is every Kansas City artist's dream to have their work in the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. Imagine my thrill when Carter Glass included me in the new expansion project. I created the architectural etched mirror elements. As far as I'm concerned that counts as having my work in the Nelson, and good luck to anyone who attempts to change my mind. November 2006 Don't forget the annual Holiday Sale at the Pi Gallery. A long time friend (I'm forbidden to say the word o.l.d.) Amanda Thweat and I were given the task of creating the Ice Cave Balcony that looks over the entire restaurant. Sort of Jurassic meets Ice Age which I'm unsure of the accuracy of the time line but hey, it looks cool.
